Guns,Guns,Guns!

A double post for the day!
The Right has always been worried, and rightly so, in the Left's desire to limit the true meaning of The Second Amendment.
But there has been a subtle shift over the years. Both parties have moved to center as our (The USA) attitudes have shifted center.
As bad as the Right wants to paint it, the recent events have shown there is no current reason to fear the Left as once there was.

The Dems and Obama have not reinstituted the assault rifle ban. (Fear was it was going to be one of the first things done.)

The US Supreme Court struck down the DC gun ownership ban. (And, will look at the Chicago ban this next year. Everything I have read suggest BOTH sides feel it will also be struck.)

The NRA has posted statements that the current rabid email blitzes about all sorts of antigun legislation are bullshit and have asked their members to NOT forward such emails.

There IS legislation in California concerning microstamping bullets, but I've read it would not meet antitrust laws. And that's State not Federal anyway. AND, 2A suggests States having the power to regulate, just may have that 'right'?

Lastly, Obama signed an order allowing hand guns in National Parks this year.
Something even Junior Bush would not do.

Socialism

Been a lot of talk about how Obama and the current Democrat congress is pushing their socialism agenda.
Now, I am a moderate. Several online tests tell me so. Basically live and let live (as long as you don't F*&% me over.)
I've stated several times that I do feel the Right has upped the ante on low blows and outright immature behavior (You Lie!).
But I have jumped on the band wagon. Let's stop this socialism right now. There is too much government interference in business.
Stop oil subsidies.
Stop farm subsidies.
Stop construction tax breaks; both Federal and State and Local.
Kill the Rural Telephone Act.
No more Federal Pork/Beef/Chicken/Dairy purchases to prop up prices.
Ethanol's 50 cent per gallon subsidy...Gone!
Employment wages are a fact of business. No more writing it off.
Gasoline usage is a fact of business. No more writing it off.
I do not get to write off fuel usage to GET to work.
No more government subsidies to companies to develop a product that the government is ultimately going to buy from you.

Get it?

The way a man runs his business is a direct correlation to his character.
The US and world's economic salvation will come from corporate conscientiousness and responsible social behavior;
oops, game over.

Elmo

On The Today Show the other morning, Elmo was a guest. He was there because of the programming that is on Seasame Street dealing with our current economy.
Pretty shitty that Elmo has to explain to youngsters why daddy and mommy are not working.
The other guest was one of the ecomonic experts on NBC.
Once again, 'living beyound our means' was one of the top reasons given. I am getting so SICK of these people who have money acting so damn holy.
Once again, here is the REAL reason the economy is in the dumper and I STILL say we ain't seen nothing yet.
From an earlier post:
25 years ago the United States middle class family had:
A Home.
2 cars in a 2 car garage.
Took 2 week vacations.
Fed a family of four.
Went out to eat 2-3 times a month.
Easily clothed the family.
Had 2 - 3 color tvs.
Saved a little for college.
Saved for ???.
Had 1-3 credit cards, mainly gas cards.
And did this all on ONE PAYCHECK.
ONE PAYCHECK.
ONE PAYCHECK.
GET IT NOW?
Here is an article from The Boston Globe written on Labor Day weekend....2006.
I can only imagine what the statstics are now....
